OBIGEN Pharma Showcases Progress of Taiwan’s Only Independently Developed Botulinum Toxin Product at BIO Asia–Taiwan 2025

OBIGEN Pharma will participate in BIO Asia–Taiwan 2025, to be held in Taipei from July 23 to July 27, 2025. The company will take part in the Investment Summit Roadshow, where CEO Pei-Fen Chou will present the latest developments of Taiwan’s first and only independently developed botulinum toxin product. The presentation will highlight the expansion of GMP manufacturing capacity for its high-potency, high-purity botulinum toxin, recent clinical trial progress, its potential applications in both aesthetic and therapeutic medicine, and its competitive advantages in efficacy. OBIGEN will also outline its plans to enter the U.S. and global markets, demonstrating the company’s overall strategy for new drug licensing and commercialization.

OBIGEN Pharma is dedicated to establishing Taiwan’s only botulinum toxin platform that combines independent research and development with manufacturing capabilities compliant with the stringent PIC/S GMP standards. Its Phase II clinical trial in Taiwan for the treatment of glabellar lines (frown lines) is expected to be unblinded in August of this year.

The company is currently conducting a repeat-dose safety study and has successfully completed enrollment of 200 study participants. In addition, OBIGEN has submitted an application to the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) to initiate a Phase III clinical trial for aesthetic treatment of glabellar lines. The company expects to complete its clinical development program in 2026 and is simultaneously planning to submit an application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to begin clinical trials in the United States.

OBIGEN’s botulinum toxin product is characterized by rapid onset of action, long-lasting efficacy, and a favorable safety profile. It also enjoys the competitive advantage of Halal certification, making it suitable for broad applications in both aesthetic wrinkle treatment and therapies for neuromuscular disorders. Protected by patents and offering strong global licensing potential, the product represents a versatile new therapeutic platform.

Looking ahead, OBIGEN will continue expanding the applications of its botulinum toxin platform through new indications and drug delivery technologies. The company remains committed to developing innovative formulations and treatment approaches while actively pursuing international partnerships to help people achieve healthier and more beautiful lives.
